I've been completely ignoring my blog lately. Everything is okay, I guess I'm just lazy. Or preoccupied. Or sick. Not sure... all I know is that I really don't have much to say. It's been raining alot and I have been tied to my naps during the day and not sleeping well at night. It's a vicious cycle. School is almost to a close, and I'm trying to tie up all the loose ends and get something situated for the end of the year - aka lack of money. Fuzz has been working his behind off at the dealership and it's a blessing and a curse that he's now only a few minutes away from it. The constant rain is killing me, along with all my aches and pains, infections and allergies. Yes, I've been whiny.... so what. On another note, I've been on a coupon and freebie warpath lately. Go me.
WTF... I am on amoxicillin for my ear infection (which is slowly getting better, btw), but now I have to contend with the list of mild (more like annoying) side effects of it. Who knew!?!?! Here's the list that I found earlier. I'll let you take a few wild guesses which one(s) I ended up with.
-
fever, sore throat, and headache with a severe blistering, peeling, and rash;
-
nausea, stomach pain, low fever, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes);
-
diarrhea that is watery or bloody;
-
fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms;
-
easy bruising or bleeding, unusual weakness;
-
urinating less than usual or not at all;
-
agitation, confusion, unusual thoughts or behavior; or
-
seizure (black-out or convulsions).
Less serious side effects are more likely to occur, such as:
-
nausea, vomiting, stomach pain;
-
vaginal itching or discharge;
-
headache;
-
swollen, black, or "hairy" tongue; or
-
thrush (white patches inside your mouth or throat).
I tried out a new hair color... I don't really have the money to go to the salon right now, so I decided to do a box color. Sometimes I have luck - others not so much. So, I picked out a reddish brown - much darker than what I was.... so it's questionable on if people like it... what do you think? This is a pic of it immediately after I rinsed out the color and blowdried it out. I still have to get it cut though. Boo.
And on another note, I'm dying on the couch with an ear infection. Every time I touch my ear, I cringe. Ugh. Miserable.
It's a possibility. I completely cut out all carbonated drinks about 3 weeks ago. No soda, no carbonated water... nothing. Boo. I miss it. I would love to have a Dr. Pepper... but I'm trying to be good - for scientific reasons. :) Anyways, I really do feel alot better since I've drank nothing but water with a few sprinkles of lemonade here and there. Man... I feel great. We'll see how long it lasts. :)
On another note, I would LOVE some pizza right about now. Any takers for dinner tonight!?!?! AGH!
Sorry.... life took a detour for a while. I've been highly stressed out since I realized how little time I have till graduation. On top of that, classes have been ridiculous lately - with midterms, field trips, and papers due. So, I'll try to bullet point each thing that's happened lately.
- Just got over being sick. I think it was just my allergies, since it comes and goes. No swine flu here, although I sometimes have flu like symptoms - although I think that's just stress.
- I had my graduation pictures taken the other day... horrible, just horrible. Flash photography sucks. And I know this because I thought the exact same thing when they took my high school graduation photos!!!
- My arm STILL hurts from getting my flu shot. It's not as bad as it had been, but it's been at least 3 weeks and I'm still sore. WTF?!?
- I am volunteering with hospice. I've finished up all my training and actually start volunteering on Monday. I go to the sites where people are in their last days and talk and comfort them. I know it sounds depressing, and it probably will be, but to be honest, if I ever get like that, I hope your asses come to visit me!
- Speaking of dying... my pap smear came back abnormal. AGAIN. I should just warn my doctors that abnormal for me is actually normal.... I hate getting biopsies. And besides that, it's like 300 bucks. GRRRR!
- I went on a fossil field trip this past weekend. We drove an hour to some creek bed, walked 20 minutes on active railroad tracks, dug a gadzillion fossils out of the creek bed and surrounding areas, then had to load up all the fossils in our backpacks, walk 20 minutes back to the van and drive an hour back. Now, that's minor details. Some guy in full on camo gear comes walking outta nowhere yelling that we are trespassing (even though our professor states it was public property) - as a class decision, we kinda figure he was poaching deer, since it's not deer season, and we were making too much noise and scaring all his lovely deer. On top of that, we had to cut the trip a few hours short after I decided that I was going to try to move a few rocks around, have one rock (mini bolders) fall on top of my finger and slice it open. I start bleeding, and professor says - Oh shit, now what do we do? WHAT!?!?!? What do you mean now what do we do!?!?!? AGH!
- My finger is fine now.... Still bandaged, but fine.
- I found lots of really cool fossils. More pictures to come on those... We still have to clean them up - so I'll take before and after photos, and try to explain what all they are.
- We went to the state fair yesterday - me, mom, and lisha. Had a blast. Ate LOADS of crap... corny dogs, fudge, carmel apple, funnel cake, fried peaches, pretzel... looked for the fried butter, but couldn't find it. Darn. I need more fried fat!
- I've been subbing on and off lately. I've had alot of stuff to do, and with not really feeling well.... it kinda sucks. I subbed for 2nd grade the other day and I swear all I ever said was SIT. What the heck!?! How do some of these teachers do it?
- I had a call last night from another teacher in the district that made it sound as if I might have an "in" in the district... trying to decide what to do on that and how it all pans out. Keep your fingers crossed for the best.
- And finally, since I made you read so much... a picture. This is a mushroom at my mom's house. I'll let you decide for yourself what it looks like. BAHAHAHA!
I went shopping at Kohl's yesterday and after about 45 minutes in the misses department, decided to try my luck in the juniors department. When I arrived, I noticed a lady (at least 30 years old) filling up a cart full of clothing. And as she did this she was having a (very loud) conversation on her cell phone. Okay... not usually annoying, but when you are LOUD and talking on the phone in a public place, I get annoyed.
But wait... it gets worse. I find something I want to try on and decide to use the juniors department dressing room instead of going back over to the misses department (which has a nicer and larger dressing room). As I walk into the dressing room, I notice (and hear) the same lady trying on clothes AND talking on her phone.
Oh but wait... yes, it gets worse. She's obviously talking to a guy she is trying to get some from because she is giggling every 30 seconds (I am seriously not exaggerating), telling him "oh wait, I have to go see how my butt looks in these jeans........ oh of course I'm going to show you what it looks like..... and longer than an hour next time." WTF?!?!?! She continued on for at least 5 minutes while I was in there, as I continue to mumble underneath my breath how inappropriate she was being.
I can't image if a mother had been in there with her pre-teen! I honestly could care less how she tries to get some dick (although I'm not sure that is the best way she could have been going about it), but I REALLY don't want to hear ANYBODY trying to have sex talk while I'm in the dressing room next door, nor do I want to hear obsessive giggling every 30 seconds.
I refuse to use my cell phone in dressing rooms. I mean seriously... how can you try on clothes when you are holding a phone to your ear?!? And on top of that, I really don't want other people listening in on my conversations. And that goes for people using their cell phones in the bathrooms as well! What would happen if you were on your phone and all of a sudden somebody else farted in the restroom? Does the other person on the phone seriously want to hear that!?!?! Eww....
Seriously people... think about where and how you are using cell phones. (And quit annoying me)
Here's a few photos of our Chicago trip this past weekend. (These are just a few... we took about 100)
The above is a picture of Lake Michigan from the south side - we are at the Aquarium for this view.
Fuzz HAD to have a Chicago dog before we left. We found this place not too far from our hotel. He's in love.
This is a photo from the Hancock Observatory - 94 stories high!
Another photo from the Hancock Observatory. It was really cruddy weather while we were there, as you can see.
An Italian restaurant close to our hotel, called the Rosebud. Two meatballs, each the size of a hamburger, and a salad as high as the top of his water glass!
The Hancock Observatory. I wanted to take him to the Sears Tower, but it was just really bad weather - he wouldn't have been able to see much.
Our first Chicago deep dish from Uno's... the wait was worth it.
Fuzz waiting for his pizza, outside of Pizzeria Uno - THE place for pizza in Chicago.
We walked down Navy Pier. This is the view looking back towards the city.
Oh - and of course, Fuzz found his "Beer Garden" at Navy Pier. Haha!
I was craving dessert, so we headed down to the Rosebud. He got Tiramisu and I got carrot cake. WAY TOO BIG!
Look! It's Pirates! This is at Navy Pier. See the Lighthouse? So pretty.
Waiting at Pizzeria Uno. I was very interested in people watching!
Fuzz double fisting it at Navy Pier. Haha... just kidding. The Miller Lite was mine.
Me at Navy Pier. Can you tell how fricken cold and windy it was there?!!?! AGH!
What is it about this movie that men are scared of?
Fuzz came home last night as I was changing the channel to watch The Notebook and as I gave a sly smile to him, he said hell, go ahead. I was hopeful that he wouldn't be eager to bash the movie all the way throughout - because he really isn't "that" guy that has masculinity issues. However, I was slightly wrong. For the first 10 minutes of him watching the movie (we were about an hour into it, when Noah and Allie are getting ready to meet again), he kept announcing how "gay" the movie was. Damn him for ruining it for me! However, I snuggled up to him, in hopes that he would turn into a male mushball and just watch the damn thing. I lucked out, and he ended up struggling to stay awake to watch it. He pronounced it one of the saddest things ever, but I think he really enjoyed it. He fell asleep shortly after the elder Allie meets her family, but I am now keen on buying the darn thing so he will watch it again (or will he just tune in the next time it's on TV and watch it with or without me?!?)
I swear, it's not like Ryan Gosling is going to reach out of the TV screen and grab your balls and/or your manhood....
I got called in to sub special ed again today, and while I was there was even asked to be on the school's preferred sub list. It's just the break I was looking for. Meaning - I'll get more jobs, teachers will know me, and I'll even be able to request a few individuals for recommendation letters when I need them. I am super excited about it! I also realized today that teaching special ed has led me to understanding my dogs needs more... is it weird when you start correlating dogs with kids? Hmmm....
Now back to regular programming - pizza and homework!
Thanks!! :) read more
